| Operational objectives |
Starptautiski sadarbojoties, veikt pētniecību medicīnas laukā, tai skaitā noteiktu slimību, medicīnisko problēmu un medicīnas disciplīnas izpēti, kā arī veikt pētījumus dabaszinātnēs un tehnoloģijās, veicināt sadarbības attīstību starp Latvijas un citu valstu zinātniekiem, apmaiņu ar pieredzi.
Veikt pasākumus attiecībā uz sabiedrības izglītošanu par veselības jautājumiem, potenciālu veselību apdraudošu faktoru pārbaudi, ģimenes veselības plānošanas pasākumus, pacientu tiesību aizsardzību, konsultāciju sniegšanu, veselīgu dzīvesveidu, sniegt veselības pakalpojumus, kas nav minēti citās jomās. Veikt pasākumus, kas vērsti uz to, lai mazinātu, novērstu negatīvo antropogēno ietekmi uz vidi, cilvēku un dzīvnieku veselību, tai skaitā klimata pārmaiņas, trokšņus, smakas, atkritumus, radiācijas, ķīmisko un cita veida piesārņojumu. Veidot un attīstīt sabiedrības vides apziņu un ētiku, tai skaitā īstenot vides izglītības programmas (tai skaitā izglītība ilgtspējīgai attīstībai, vides zinātne) un veicināt sabiedrības līdzdalību vides un dabas aizsardzībā. Uzlabot dzīves kvalitāti vietējā līmenī - noteiktas kopienas vai apkaimes robežās. Īstenot pasākumus, lai uzlabotu ekonomisko infrastruktūru un kapacitāti, tai skaitā ceļus, finanšu pasākumus, uzņēmējdarbības programmas, tehniskās un vadības konsultācijas, palīdzības programmas lauku attīstībai, tai skaitā starptautiski. Nodrošināt pilsonisko tiesību un cilvēktiesību aizsardzību, patērētāju tiesību aizsardzību un produktu kontroli, jebkura veida diskriminācijas novēršanu saistībā ar dzimumu, rasi vai etnisko izcelsmi, reliģiju vai pārliecību, invaliditāti, vecumu vai seksuālo orientāciju, nodrošināt juridisko palīdzību, tai skaitā konsultācijas un palīdzību domstarpību risināšanā un ar tiesu saistītos jautājumos. Īstenot programmas un pasākumus, lai veicinātu savstarpējo cieņu un kultūru dažādību starptautiskā līmenī, īstenot programmas un projektus, kas veicina sociālo un ekonomisko attīstību ārvalstīs, kā arī informē un izglīto vietējo sabiedrību par globālām problēmām un to risinājumiem. |
