Operational objectives

Izveidot muzeju, kas uzkrāj, dokumentē un saglabā materiālās un nemateriālās kultūras vērtības saistītās ar Latvijas Republikas Valsts robežu un tās darbību dažādu laikmetu griezumā;
Muzeja izveidē un darbībā galveno akcentu likt uz Latvijas-Krievijas robežas atkalizveidošanu un darbību laika posmā no 1990.gada līdz 2004.gadam;
Nodrošināt muzeja darbību veicot muzeja krājuma un ar to saistītās informācijas pētniecības darbu;
Muzeja darbību aptverošajā sfērā veikt sabiedrības izglītošanu, materiālās un nemateriālās kultūras vērtību popularizēšanu;
Ar muzeja darbību veicināt Latgales reģiona atpazīstamību un attīstību.
