Operational objectives

1.Veicināt psiholoģijas zinātnes un prakses attīstību;
2.Rūpēties par profesionālo psihologu profesionālās kvalifikācijas izaugsmi, radošo spēju izkopšanu, profesionālās pieredzes apgūšanu, psihologu profesionālās identitātes un darbības kritēriju izstrādāšanu un to ievērošanu;
3.Sniegt iespēju saņemt augsti kvalificētu profesionālu palīdzību, kam tas nepieciešams. Sekmēt profesijas prestiža pieaugumu sabiedrībā, kā arī uzturēt profesionālus kontaktus ar ārzemju kolēģiem tā veicinot Latvijas psihologu integrāciju Eiropas un pasaules psihologu apritē;
4.Sniegt augsti profesionālu, kvalificētu psihologa palīdzību un atbalstu maznodrošinātām personām, tai skaitā apmācību procesos;
5.Apvienot profesionālos psihologus, kuri veic profesionālo darbību fundamentālās un lietišķās psiholoģijas sfērās, veicot zinātniski-pētniecisko darbu, konsultēšanu un psihoterapiju, psiholoģisko diagnostiku un ekspertīzi, psiholoģisko darbu grupās, kā arī piesaista dažādu nozaru speciālistus un interesentus gan no Latvijas, gan ārpus tās robežām;
6.Veikt psihologu profesionālās darbības pārskatu, izvirzīt prasības praktizējošiem psihologiem atbilstoši sertificēšanā izstrādātiem reglamentējošiem dokumentiem;
7.Veikt zinātnisku pētniecību psiholoģijas laukā;
8.Veikt profesionālo psihologu sertifikāciju;
9.Organizēt sanāksmes, lekcijas, diskusijas un studiju grupas profesionāļiem un interesentiem;
10.Organizēt reģionālu, starpreģionālas un starptautiskas konferences Latvijā un ārpus tās, pārstāvot Latvijas psihologus forumos ārzemēs.
